Some of the many bowls that Allen has made through out the years

Wood

All woods used in turning bowls are either from salvage or sustainable harvesting operations.
Each bowl is hand-crafted with an artistic uniqueness; it is a one of a kind piece of art.
It is signed on the bottom with the type of wood it was made from.

Allen salvaging wood

History of the Artisit

Allen has always had a fascination with machines and lathe work.  He built his own lathe at 14 years of age and started turning wood projects.
He served for 4 years in the US Air Force. After his discharge he enrolled at the Community College and finished a machinist apprenticeship and then a Business Degree from the University of Utah and University of Phoenix.

Upon retiring he retrieved his homemade lathe and again started turning wood bowls. Turning soon became a passion for him and it was obvious he needed better equipment and a "Man Shed" to take his talent to a higher level.
Allen has attended the Pacific Wood Turner's Conference, taken classes at the College of the Redwoods in Northern California, as well as attending local conferences and classes to sharpen and increase his skills.

In spite of some health issues with MS and diabetes, he continues to find the inner beauty of salvaged trees by extending their existence through his unique talent of turning them into beautiful wood bowls.
